Buying my first MTB

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the world of MTB and I've just discovered this great forum with plenty of advice and tips.
My budget is quite low for my first MTB at around £300 but I'm only going to do some light and easy family trails with my wife and daughter. I was wondering if anyone had advice on the bikes listed below. These are both in my price range. What one would people recommend?
BTWIN 520 Rockrider

gt-27-5-aggressor-comp-2016

Or does anyone have another bike in the £300 range on a 27.5 wheel that they think would be a better choice?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Robbie

The Rockrider - it's entry level but every part is better than the GT, which is terrible.I don't do smileys.

Thank for the advice guys.
I've convinced the wife to allow me to increase my budget to £400 lol. Not a massive difference but it seems to open up a lot of new bikes, like the Rockrider 560 above. Whats peoples views on the new shortlist? Stick with BTWIN?

Thanks again folks. I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision for my first bike.

The Rockrider, cheaper than any of the others, and still has better bits. With the 'name brands' you're paying a chunk for the name. Doesn't matter too much if you're spending thousands as it's a small proportion, but at entry level it's a fair chunk of the price.I don't do smileys.
