So yesterday i had my 8th puncture since October (2500 miles)

A puncture every 312 miles.
Is that ridiculously unlucky or about average??

I haven't counted ours - seem to have had quite a few - but then we do run a few bikes and out in all sorts of weathers. Had one on Tuesday - pinch puncture due to a pothole that I really should've known to avoid. Luckily I was nearly home and it didn't go down till I got home.
Wife has had quite a few - including 3 in one ride.

I've been a couple of years without a puncture, but then had 2 in the last month. It's just random. One was a slow deflation due to a tiny hole in the tube / nothing in the tyre. The second was a slashed sidewall causing the tube to explode with a loud bang.

I'd say you've been pretty unlucky, or your tyres are starting to wear out.

Tyres are only 4 months old

We've had some pretty heavy rain of late which seems to have washed all manner of gubbins on to the road, maybe tougher tyres until it really dries up for summer. Whenever that will be!
    Advocate of disc brakes.

I had a spate of them a while back and eventually found a small piece of flint buried in the tyre.

This comes up every now and then and the usual advice is to always ensure you know why a puncture has happened as they don't happen for nothing. It sounds basic but it is amazing how many people I see rushing to fix a puncture at the side of the road without any attempt to find the cause and eradicate it.

If you know what the issue was for all 8, what was it? Pinchflats, thorns?? Understanding that will help with the advice that can be given. Whatever though, get into the habit of checking tyres carefully once a week and pick out any embedded 'sharps'. Otherwise, they tend to disappear into the rubber and then the next time you see them will be when they exit the tyre on the other side and cause a puncture.

Either "racey" tyres...or ill fitting rim tape rubbing the inner tube. Running super light race rubber isn't going to make you a good rider so ge some durable tyres on like Duranos.

...but without knowing why the punctures happened this advice is as relevant as the price of fish. It could be a pinchflat which left a rough edge on the rim or a spoke end poking through rim tape, etc, etc., Equally, it could be a small shard of glass that only gets exposed every now and then. It could be the rider is simply not putting enough air into the tyres. None of these kinds of issue will be improved by compromising the rubber for something more utilitarian.

OP, find the cause and solve it as appropriate...which may be to get some tougher tyres,

    +1 with Bobbinogs.

Sounds a lot to me - but if :

your rides go through a broken glass factory
you dont find the cause for the original puncture
    you ride the wrong pressures
you hit potholes like a sack of spuds
    you have crap tyres
    you have crap tubes

    Then that would explain them.

What tyres are you using, seems a bit excessive to me. 1 or 2 in 4 yrs or so around 10k miles. Run gaterskins, Durano, and gp4000 during this time, seem to knacker tyres before innertubes. Usualy splits / bad cuts.

    Conti 4 seasons.
A lot of people rave about them but i'm not that impressed tbh.
Punctures are punctures but my rear tyre in particular is covered in splits

I always check the tyre etc when i change the inner tube.

My last pair of 4 Seasons wore right down to the carcass and still didn't puncture. I replaced them with more of the same. Still not one puncture on the new ones. My recent punctures have been on the Pro 4 SCs on the summer bike.

Must be down to the roads you ride and the nature of the debris you encounter...
