London's a big place - can you narrow it down a bit?0

Well I dont know, I´ve never been there...we will be staying in Greenwich but will be travelleing around town as most tourists do, so not too far away or atlest where it´s fairly possible to get too with the tube and/or bus I guess..0
-
Thing about London is that it's all pretty much accessible by tube / bus. Condor gets a lot of love on here, you could try them. There's literally dozens of branches of Evans.0

Condor, Rapha cafe(s), loads of Evans/Cycle Surgeries but personally I'd just goto LMNH for some pie and a beer.0

Last time we had a weekend in London I wanted to do the same as you.I went into the Evans shop but it wasn't any different from any other.
Also went into Condor, they had some nice kit etc but most of the stuff was on the expensive side.0 -

Mosquito bikes, but not sure if its still operational
Condor, Rapha
Most other shops selling what most other shops sell0 -
Condor in about it now in London, doesn't everyone buy online these days?
Evans and Cycle Surgery, really only worth bothering with if you need an emergency tyre/innertube.
Sigma sport in Hampton Wick, is worth a look if you can get there easily.0 -
Yes, they are just normal bike shops but in London and more expensive. Sigma is good for looking at bling mind.
If you're about when a good race is on then LMNH or the Rapha cafes are good place to watch. Maybe the new Brixton cycles too but not been there.0 -
For bling then Bespoke have 2 shops. Cyclefit is on Macklin st,Covent Garden and Pinarello/Assos is at the bottom end of Regent St0
-
Best cafes/bike places are Look Mum No Hands (2 branches), Dynamo in Putney and Rapha in Soho.
Plenty of cool shops, Condor is big and cool, some bespoke bike shops mainly in the West End. Cloud 9 cycles do cool custom builds.
Afternoon in LMNH watching le Tour is your best bet if it's still on whilst here.0 -
Condor is one of the more interesting ones, although frankly I find it a bit hit and miss with the staff. Some are helpful, some are grumpy and seem to feel like they're doing you a favour. And I say that as a Condor bike owner, so can't be accused of wasting their time.
I find Evans pretty useless, but Cycle Surgery on balance a lot better.
Note that for Cyclefit you need to have an appointment.
Bespoke you don't but the one on Jermyn Street does require them to buzz you in. Also note it's in a basement, not obvious when standing on the street. It's pretty small, you'll be in and out in minutes. The Canary Wharf one is bigger, but it's Canary Wharf ie dull as dishwater.
I do find it remarkable that there aren't more, better shops in London.
If you want to head slightly out of London, then I recommend Shorter Rochford with branches in Finchley and Potters Bar. The PB one is the higher end of the two - better bikes and gear.
Also Bike & Run in East Finchley are pretty good, although at times also suffer from grumpy staff.0 -
Thanks for all the tips! I am actually only really mostly after checking out some light touringbags (for racebikes) so that kind of store that has that kind of things would be the best0
