I am considering buying an MTB, the last one I bought was a Marin in 1990 so I dont know much with regards to riding modern MTBs other than what Ive read. I would be using it around south Dartmoor mainly. Any thoughts on the 2016 Boardman pro 29er? The reviews seem decent. Was also looking at a Voodoo Bizango, but as Halfords offer interest free credit I could go for the more expensive option.
Thanks

I have one, and it's a great bike. I've had 26ers before but having tried friend's 29ers , bigger wheels made sense for me. I did a lot of research and couldn't find about that offered a similar spec for the money .

I like the idea of 29er wheels. Ref the 1x 11 does it give you plenty enough range up the hills?

    I came from a 3 x 9 and haven't found a hill yet where 1 x 11 has been a problem.

I went with the Bizango. I probably would of been happy riding a 1x11. Im a beginner MTBer but I know how to maintain 2x10 speed set ups as with my road bike. Also the 10 spd consumables are a good bit cheaper than the 1x11, so that helped my decision with the bike. Cheers.

well if you know how to index and setup road bike gears then you will be fine with mtb stuff of any speed its basically the same.

1x11 is a new thing out so once it has been out a while then prices will fall as they did with 10spd kit.
