Is nail polish safe for chips on steel frames?
I know a lot of people use it and I've got some green metallic and clear polish for my bike.

Just wondered if it will do anything to the frame in the long run.
Anyone have negative results?

it won't hurt steel, but nail polish is not the toughest finish

car touch up paint should be better for long term

Most nail varnishes are nitrocellulose based. It won't do anything to the steel. Whether the cellulose is compatible with your paint finish is another matter.

Thing is that it's my Coventry Eagle metallic green as here:

Found a metallic polish about two shades too dark but have some white to add and blend the correct colour.
Her indoors is an artist so that helps

Then have this as overcoat, has nylon in it and by all accounts from the girls, it does what it says:
