Hi, I was looking at buying a Cadex CFR-2 which is 23 year old carbon fibre with aluminium lugs. It has carbon fibre forks and carbon fibre handlebars. Would it be dangerous to ride this bike? I am 100kg in weight if that matters.

Thankyou

I have heard of people having to have frames sent back to reglue the lugs - but that was a different make.

Have you been able to check the bike ?

Looks in good shape i guess considering all i know is that a bike should have two wheels.

    Thanks

No reason why there should be any issues with it.

He's not shown the chainset side though - maybe the chainrings are worn ?

The problem with glued and alloy lugged carbon frames is galvanic corrosion which would be evidence with bubbling, cracked paints around the lugs and sometimes a white, powdery residue. Hard to tell from the photos and best to take a close-up examination of the frame - any evidence of corrosion like this, then walk-away.
