Best to look on Strava, go to the create a route page and turn on heat maps to see the most ridden routes.0

First one up to Chiavenna, nice little village for lunch the down to varenna and hop on the ferry back to Menaggio.
Check out this route on Strava: https://www.strava.com/routes/1018000
2nd goes over to Luggano then takes in a hard claim and drops you back over onto Como and then head back up to Menaggio.

Then you have the big one, a full loop of the lake. Take note though, once you pass Varenna on the eastern shore there is no ferry option to get back over if you're knackered.
Check out my ride on Strava.

Where are you staying in Menaggio?Advocate of disc brakes.0 -
Thank for the tips and routes.
Liking the look of this loop Bellagio - Sormano. Though it's a bit on the short side - which can of course be remedied by an extra long lunch stop...

The Bellagio-Sormano-Nesso loop is fantastic: you can visit the chapel and the museum at the top of Ghisallo if you want to kill some time. I see your route avoids the Muro di Surmano - probably wise although it's worth going to have a look to see just how steep it is. And then the descent down to Nesso is superb (this is also a very nice climb going the other way).
Be aware that the roads around the lake are very busy in high summer.0 -

We're staying in Lake Como Hostel in Menaggio.
Just be aware that the museum is closed during the week.
To make that a longer ride I'd suggest you get the ferry over to Bellagio first (imbarcadino is across the road and about 100m down from the Hostel), ride the loop and follow the lake road back to Menaggio - just keep the water on your right. That way you get a good climb with fresh legs and a decent ride back.
If you ride through Como town don't follow the one way system, just ride along the lake front or it will take you on a merry chase around the back streets.Advocate of disc brakes.0
