Hi all..
Can anyone point me in the direction of a store, or website that sell road frames?
The ones I have in mind are Trek Domane, Specialised Roubaix, Can Synapse, or BMC GF01?
I'm planning a project for my next GF bike...and wish to build it up myself?
Many thanks

Evans Cycles often have quite a few frames in from the bigger brands.

TBH Google is your best bet - search for the model you're after and "frameset" rather than "frame".

Try Paul's Cycles as well. Usually good for Cannondale.

I'm pretty new to this, so if someone is more aware of this, please enlighten me?
Are frame sets not something that is commonly/normally sold to the customer?

    Thanks

My first port of call for frames is always Paul Milnes Ebay shop.

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Paul-Milnes-Cy ... 34.c0.m322

They are a genuine LBS based in Bradford and offer a range of road and road disc frames at good prices. I have bought 3 frames from them in the past and I can't fault them for service. Usually if you call and pay direct they will offer a decent discount on the Ebay listing price.

They don't often feature the mainstream manufacturers that you have listed and also I don't know what size you need. However they currently have a Genesis Zero carbon frame on offer in an S size.

They also have a Ridley Helium in S and M sizes

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RIDLEY-HELIUM ... 6dac81b6dc

and they have a Tifosi CK2 carbon frame in either a 52 or 56 size

Check thom out as an alternative to the Trek and Dale options.
  • Try sigma sport , they do several.

    thanks for your help...

the problem is I have no knowledge of any of those brands they suck. They are probably brilliant, but I don't know those bikes..

Would this frame be similar to the 2015 NON HI MOD Synapses 2016 available in stores?

    http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/products.php?show=7002

I rode the 2016 Synapse Carbon at Evans a few days ago, the one that retails for £1599, with 105?

I remember I read somewhere that the synapse has beed radically improved recently, not sure when, 2014 or 2015?

    Thanks

That's the post revamp Synapse, so bar the paint, it's the same. Older synapses have a BB30 bottom bracket and a 27.2 mm seatpost, whereas the new variant has BB30A and 25.4mm respectively. The easiest way to tell is that the newer type has the seatpost "split" at the bottom bracket, but the older ones don't.

Total Cycling and Slane Cycles both seem to to carry a fair range of frames, and if you don't mind last years (or older) models, lots of bargains to be had.

As you've probably discovered not all manufacturers sell just the framesets of their bikes. Many prefer to sell only full bikes - if you want something specific then you might end up with eBay.

That said you can get framsets for some Trek models, but only usually the higher end stuff.

Online retailers are usually the best bet; Canyon, Planet X and Ribble all sell most of their models in frameset format.

Certini sell frames off , mostly specialized if that is your thing.
