Hi all,
Currently have a Specialized Tarmac 2015, still with the stock Axis 2.0 rims. Looking to upgrade but ideally not spend over £250-£300
Considering the following:
Fulcrum Racing 5 - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/fulcrum-racing- ... -wheelset/
Cosine 32mm - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/cosine-32mm-all ... -wheelset/
Fulcrum Racing Quattro - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/fulcrum-racing- ... lset-2016/
Any thoughts? recommendations?

I think for that price, try and find some decent 2nd hand rims. I usually find Pro-lite braccianos are a bargain wheelset if you can find a 2nd hand pair0

Hard to say. What are you looking to improve on vs your current wheels? How many spokes do your current ones have, what do they weigh, what do you weigh, do you race and are you going to ride the new wheels all the time?0 -
What's wrong with the stock wheels?
I'm probably not the best source of advice on 'upgrading' I only replace stuff if it stops working / wears out, and I'm still riding the RS10 wheels I specced when I bought my first road bike 9 years ago. When I built up a winter bike 3 years ago I went for cheap old R501s with plenty of plain, round, j-bend spokes. Again, still going strong.
Never really understood this wheel malarkey. The manufacturers seem to be in cahoots with the journalists who invariably when reviewing a 2 grand bike slate the stock wheels as heavy / flexy / unresponsive / some other nebulous term, and recommend they be immediately replaced with something costing another £500.
If I ever buy a 2 grand bike I want it to be the dog's danglies out of the box. Audi don't sell the R8 with skinny tyres and steel wheels with plastic trims...0 -
Look at the Cero wheels from cycledivsion, you can get some for £185 with free tyres. Lots of good reviews (from friends as well).Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/
