Hi all,
I am about to take on a big charity bike ride. I am looking to purchase a new bike for the ride, however I could do with some advice.
What are the best value carbon road bikes out there? Budget would be around £1000. Also is it risky buying second-hand carbon bikes.
Thanks
Jamie

Fit is the most important thing with bikes. Second hand you rely upon knowing what size you are.
Check out places like Planet X - they can do a bike fit for you for a bit extra. Good value for money there.0 -

Boardman if you can get one new for that price0

I was in halfords last week and boardman team carbon was around 840 quid.0

Although website has at 999. Has that ship sailed?0

Go back to halfords and see? I personally would get a good secondhand one as you will get far more for your money, also if you dont take to it or enjoy cycling you can sell it on and minimise your loss0

Halfords had them on sale but it has ended now. Worth joing British Cycling though as you get 10% off everything in Halfords0

Get down to Decathlon and get a Triban mach 720. By far the best value carbon bike bang on the grand price range.0
