After a bit of advice please.
I have just noticed this on my training bike.

At first i thought it was just a paint crack but the crack is a straight line and the more i look at it the more i think it could be a crack in the carbon.

I have contacted the online retailer i bought it from and will await their response but i wanted to see what you guys thought as well.

Would appreciate any opinions.

Thanks

If it's carbon blades and alloy steerer it could well be where they join - I had a similar mark on some Scott forks a few years back.

Yeah thats what i was thinking.
Had it been in a different location on the forks then i might not be so concerned.

Although, just found out my warranty card and everything and it does state
'UHC Performance carbon fibre monocoque fork. 100% carbon fibre, control taper technology 1.125 - 1.5 steerer.'
So might not be an alloy steerer.

Pull the front brake on hard and rock the bike back and forth - any movement? If so I'd stop using them and have it checked - that's the join-line between the fork blade and crown. A paint crack would normally be more jagged - that looks like there's movement due to the ridge.

Fork doesn't look like a full carbon fork (Look into the hole for the brake nut), most likely it has an alloy crown and what you see is the joint.
If you see movement on that location > claim warrantee.

    Thanks for the replies.
Have tried holding the brakes and rocking the bike back and forth and there appears to be no movement. The crack does appear to be a straight line though and goes about 3/4 of the way around the fork leg, so i do fear it is something more sinister than a paint crack.

Fortunately i have a new training bike so have no need to ride this at the moment. The retailer has asked for it to be returned so will see what they find. It is 15months old, the frame and fork have a 3 year warranty so if it is a crack then hopefully it will be replaced.

Will post back as soon as i have an update.

Be interesting to see the outcome - one of those that is probably OK but you can't take the risk can you.

Just an update, Felt have honoured the warranty and have supplied a full replacement frame and fork!
It has taken a few weeks and i have already replaced it, so will probably sell it, but very impressed with their warranty service.
