Rivnut. You'll have to get the screw out, but if it won't budge it, saw the head off and drill the rivet out. You'll need to remove the BB so that the bits of the old Rivnut can be removed and not be rattling around in the frame. Insert a new one with a rivnut tool and away you go.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0

Thank you, sounds more like a task for the friendly local bike shop than my clumsy self.
I had imagined removing the screw with pliars pulling gently while turning but putting the new cage on was expecting to have nothing to tighten the screw into (hope I have described that well). I assume the screw doesn't go into the carbon of the frame.0 -
The rivnut is inserted into a hole in the frame, be it carbon, steel, aluminium etc, and compressed with the tool or something you adapt to do the job such as a skewer and spare hub.
