First of moderators apologies if this is the wrong section feel free to move.
A short intro...
In my previous job i was cycling to and from work on the daily on my road bike (30 mile round trip). Now with a new job requiring me to commute on the train to London its not safe for me to leave my pride and joy at the station everyday.
I've had an first (very) old hybrid bike knocking around the back of the garage for a long time, but it's bad shape.
So being bored one Friday evening, i decieded to give it a spruce up.
I'm by no means an expert or cycle guru, but having worked on many a car, I'm extremely handy with a spanner.
So my list of things to get sorted:
Rust Protection & Pain
New Bottom Bracket
New Chain
New Rear Derallier
New brake blocks
Change all of the cables
(Possible new rear cassette)
Long term:
New ChainSet & Pedals
Upgrade to Disc Brakes (not sure if this can be done)
Front fork upgrade
Wheel Upgrade
So its been a busy spending around an 10 hours in the garage stripping the bike down to its bare bones to begin a rebuild.
Unfortunately no pics at the moment I'll get some ones up later today.
Will be selecting some new components this week so will need your guys help with that regard.

Might be a slow process if it took you 10 hours to strip it down, how badly rusted up is it?Framebuilder
