Looking at the Giant Defy Disc 1/2

I want to run the Conti GP4000s II in 28mm

I hear it comes up large 31mm'ish

Do they fit the Giant Defy Disc 1/2?

if so how much room if left?

I can't speak about the conti's, but run Vredestien Xtreme Weather 28mm on my Disc 1 wet bike and there's still clearance to go bigger, although if I did, the mudguards would no longer fully cover:

now that is promising, run 28s and guards, mmmm

could you measure the real width of your tyres?

I switched from the 25mm tyres that came with my Defy to GP4000s. They came up quite a bit bigger.
