I like the title and may suggest it later to the Mrs
An early morning ride is planned with a climb up the burway with an early return promised.
Later is chilling as its Father's Day and chilling...“Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring”

Fathers day and I've got the mother in law looking after the kids whilst I do my first half marathon, how hard can it be without training?
Later is all of her family are over - lucky me0 -
Salve
Father's Day so a Castelli Perfetto for me. Lovely. Seriously lovely. Shame all my shorts are so faded and buggered that I'd look like a weird tramp with a stolen top so more secret expenditure to buy massively overpriced matching Castelli shorts. Only other option is new blue AMS shorts but that'll look weird. Still, it'll all match my new tubs on N1 bike.
Apart from that, family stuff planned and maybe a weights session. Or beer and Hound chillin' while watching France play later..................Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Got bike stuff washed and dried. Took the hound for a walk. Now relaxing till the rest of the household returns and interrupts the peace."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
Very lazy start after a hectic day in Brizzle yesterday. Boy has gone out with the girlfriend for the day, we are off to the 'rents later. Skin is over from Italy so will be good to see her too. Mum has made Tiramisu so all is well with the world.0

Santini - as good if not better value for money.
Go a size up. I find that they are a little short on the leg. I am 5'9" and choose L.

Toots washed and scrubbed at the local municipal swimming pool. Better than scrubbing the bath out.
Hoping the wevver improves for a pedal, i'm not optimistic on that one. OH finished work early - so much for father's day; hardly any bookings and Mother's day was booked out. I think we need to stand up for our rights and party.

Good call - thank you. Any idea which one is their aero race job? If short on leg I'll just wear knee warmers to keep pinned and broken knees all nice and roasty toasty.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Why do you want the aero race job? If your knees are as bad as that, forward movement should be sufficient.
Nice:

You can get the Aero Santini's from Bob Shop but pricey.

Just don't want loose shorts and want long legged - as close to the knee as poss. Not a fan of this short legged stuff really.
As an aside, I just had a massive collapse of motor skills and dropped my glass of bubbles all over bambina/the floor.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

That's called 'drunk'. No, just go 1 size up. I don't like the shorts half way up the thigh either.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

Unfortunately not drunk. Really weird, however will now drown out that mishap with beer whilst chillin' on the couch with The Hound and watching the footy.
Won't going a size up make shorts loose?Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

I ordered the L by accident. It fitted perfectly. I ordered a subsequent pair in M. Had to send them back. I am 67kg' and according to the sizing chart, an M is what should fit.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
L it is then.

Ride by shooting - good idea.
I got the gen form the horses mouth:
"I have only run one half marathon race since leaving Queenstown 5 years ago, which was Glencoe last year in a time of approx. 2:05 (22nd) compared with the fastest time of 1:39:35. That's a mountain run, of course, which is about 30 minutes slower than a flat half.
My personal best was 1:21:11 in Wellington around 1994. That's fast!!! (15.67kph actually)
My personal best in a Marathon was around 3:04 in Wellington also around that time, a handicap race which I won, and not flat, by the way!
I have always wanted to attempt to break 3 hours in a marathon on the flat.
Probably can't manage that any more.
I expect to run a half in somewhere between 1:30 and 1:40 now, if I was fit."seanoconn - gruagach craic!0
