Internal Cable Query

Apologies if this is an obvious question!

I need to replace the cables on my Ribble R872. It seems the cables for the front and rear mech are routed through the frame and then wrap over the bottom bracket inside the frame and then exit the frame at the relevant points.

The cables seem to be sleeved / tubed in some kind of soft, grey plastic material that is different to the standard outer cable material where they pass over bottom bracket inside the frame.

For the front mech, this sleeving then protrudes slightly out of the hole where the cable exits the frame, presumably to stop the steel cable damaging the frame by rubbing on it. Thing is, I have no idea what this tubing is. Can anyone enlighten me please as to what I need to buy?

Cable sets only seem to come with the standard inner steel cable and outer tubing - not with this additional " internal tubing". I'd say it's probably around 6mm in diameter.

Thanks!

not familiar with the ribble, but ptfe tubing may be an option, low friction, impervious to grease/oil, tough

If it's anything like the Merida, it'll just be compressed foam tubing like you get around electrical looms. It's only function is to dampen rattles from inside the frame where the cabling might touch it.
