Hi all,
Can anyone help me, I'm building a new wheel and I'm using a Chrina Ryde rim, but cannot find out what spoke tension to build it to. It's going on an old retro build so I have built it to a new Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub using Aci Alpine spokes.
It's currently showing 20 on my Park tools spoke gauge,
Shoul I be looking for around 25 or am I about right
Cheers

ACI double butted?
If your wheel is not dished and it shouldn't be with hub gear, then 20 is adequate, assuming the calibration is half decent. If your wheel is dished, then you want a bit more on the drive side.
If you are using ACI plain gauge, then 24-25 is more like it for a NON dished wheelleft the forum March 20230 -
