Hello,

Picker up an old s works road bike off a friend. I'm probably going to strip off some bits and put on my bike, as the frames too small.

Any ideas what the frame would be worth? its a sport 2000 S.A carbon model according to a sticker on it. It originally came with electric gears, apparently some of the first to go on a bike, but its been changed to Ultegra. I cannot find any info on the internet about it.

    I think it pre-dates Di2 by quite a while.
It's a big frame, maybe a 60 or so... how tall are you?

    Yes, long before di2.
It's around 56cm frame. Just a bit smaller than my 58cm trek. Reach is about the same and stem height is the same. Shame as it's a nice light frame, not as light as modern carbon frames, but lighter than my trek alloy frame bike.
I'm 6ft 3 ish, my trek is probably a bit small.

Frame, forks, saddle and carbon saddle stem must be worth a few hundred?

Unless he means an old Mavic 'zap' or 'mektronic' electric groupset..?

You are best doing that... break for components and Ebay them.. if you have the time and patience. I used to sell on Ebay until buyers started to play act.. I now know someone who deals with all the crp for a %. You should actually make a profit.

I'm going to keep the wheels, rear mech, shifters, calipers & handlebars.

Will flog on the frame and forks, saddle/stem and peddles. Just trying to gauge a price for the frame.

Not that much I'm afraid. A couple of years ago I bought a mint 2011 Allez E5 alu frameset on ebay and the going rate at that time was what I paid for it, about £200. Using that as a guide (and bearing in mind the E5 is highly regarded, particularly by me, and fairly current) I would value that frameset, given the likely age and carbon, etc., as about £100-150??

This reminds me of Bruce's "The price is right" :)

That's not too bad. Thought maybe a little more as it a s works, but it is old.

I think Spesh introduced the Roubaix around 2004? S Works version might have been an 05 model... but definitely never with electronic gears at that age.

Good frame but as others note, probably 150 for frame/fork etc is close.
