I have a Park Tool CT3 (the older one)

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com ... 56AmTL.jpg

it works great for the 9 speed bikes, however when shortening the single speed chain (3/32") it worked but could tell it's not designed for it.

Are there any chain tools that work for 3/32" chains? Also support 1/8" in case I decide to change the geartrain from 3/32" to 1/8"

I guess if the new version of the Park Tool does 9speed (and 11) plus 1/8" and 3/32" I could sell that and buy the new version..
Say... That's a nice bike..

    Nope. It's slightly wider.

You're getting confused with 8 speed...look at the spec

So a 9 speed chain is wider than an 8 speed? Really?

KMC state their 9 speed has a 1/128" (about 0.2mm) narrower roller than 8 speed, the rest don't

3/32 has thicker plates. Internally they may be the same but the outer plates look about 50% thicker.

Yup, but the 3/32 is the roller width, so tada 9 speed is the same as I originally said.......

I'd rather stick with proper 3/32 single speed chains not using 9 speed derailleur chains

proper single speed chains are of course 1/8" anyway.......

Most the single speed 3/32 are just 7/8 speed derailleur chains.

Single/fixed speeds are 1/8th. I've used a number of chain splitters. Just get a Decathlon one or something similar. Non fancy one.

My FG SS is 3/32". Genesis flyer. Stock chain that comes supplied with the bike is this (got two of these with the bike)

Pretty expensive at £25 but bought a couple of these at about £7
