Grease bearing surfaces?

An easy one for someone. Do I grease the bearing surfaces (outer edge) before I insert them?

    yes I do when using cartridge bearings in the headset on my bike, will make it easier to press in and take out.

    Yes. It reduces push in force and prevents the aluminium in the frame picking up and damaging the bearing surface of the frame.
    It will also help with removal in a year or two.

    Or even a lot longer than that!
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
