Grease bearing surfaces?

An easy one for someone. Do I grease the bearing surfaces (outer edge) before I insert them?

yes I do when using cartridge bearings in the headset on my bike, will make it easier to press in and take out.0

Yes. It reduces push in force and prevents the aluminium in the frame picking up and damaging the bearing surface of the frame.
