Garmin Elite Virb recording problem

I updated my Garmin Elite Virb and checked through the settings and I don't know what I have done but I've change something and don't know what.
When I set off and push the record button up I get a red solid dot in the top left of the viewing screen as though it's start to record and the main light flashes red/record but it's not doing it.
When I get home it I find that it's only recorded the last 1/2 an hour of my 1hr:40min ride and it its split into 6 minute recordings. I use to have it set to record right from the off, button up away we go ! not button up start recording an hour into the ride !. I also had it set to auto split each segment to 30 minute recording segments.
Can someone please tell me what I have done to make it do this ? it's driving me crazy !!! gurrgh !!

You've put it into Loop mode.
