Cycle guard insurance

Morning all.
I've woke up this morning to find the shelving collapsed in my shed causing some damage to the top tube of my carbon bike.
I have accidental damage cover with cycle guard but since looking into it there are a lot of horror stories about them.
Anyone had any experience with them and if they do pay out is it likely to be just a new frame or complete bike?

If only the top tube was damaged and a frame is available why would an insurer pay out for a new bike? Equally wierd is why would anyone claim for a new bike if only the frame was damaged and could be replaced?0
