End of a long weekend for me, unfortunately spent it dodging storms or cleaning up the aftermath. Back in the airport heading to work. Short week at least!

    Morning folks,
Lovely and sunny around these parts which does of course mean that I had to drive in. Got to go out and ferry the girl to school later as half term is now over. Hoping for a quiet day even though I know how unlikely that is after a sunny weekend has dragged all the idiots out. Need to do some more admin fro the scouts AGM later, need to move a few more numbers around first. Need someone else to come in and make me another cup of tea now.

On the train in from Orpington, after dropping Stropteen off at the coach for her school trip to Ironbridge. Watch out TLW, you are about to get invaded by 160 gobby 14 year old girls :)

Day in the office then time to pack the bags for Berlin.

Spent yesterday doing some jobs about the house and cleaning cars so my reward is being sat in an office whilst the sun is out.

On the up shot I am going for a ride in the evening sun which means I might get away with short sleeves for the first time this year!

Came back at 9.50 pm after a stunning evening ride and was wired to the moon till 3am. My excuse this morning is that Minion is running late... Coffee, coffee, coffee...

    Laters.

  • Didn't wake up in Wells next the Sea this morning - shock horror.

As a consequence I cant tell you whether the tide is in or out (sure I could make a pretty good guess though based on yesterdays levels).

Back in work but can't get into things as yet - been dealing with some "wired" formites late e-mail to get me going.

Had early coffee sat in the garden this moring as the weather is so nice. Has had me in a good mood ever since depsite having to go back to work after a week off.
  • Tired legs after yesterdays jaunt meant a slow pedal in to the office this morning.
Wishing the day away as usual.

Today is indeed cruel. I've given myself a talking too and made myself get back on the healthy stuff and a bloody box of chocolates has just arrived from one of our suppliers.

Recovery ride, lunch in the sun drenched garden with my wife and a few job applications to fire off after collecting my daughter from school.

Went to check on my folks' house whilst the girl was at school, as they get back from their holiday tomorrow night. Found the flowers in front of the window trampled where some low life has been having a look through the windows of an empty house. Looks like I'm going to be a womble for the night and kip over there. Might have to keep a big stick close at hand.

you need pirate watch, it's a bit like neighbourhood watch, but with pirates, in a hilux, with big guns

anyone they catch gets ransomed, proceeds invested for ammunition and rum (or qaad if they're somali pirates)

You believe the perps' will be worth any ransom, or that anyone will pay? Just start up the mini gun

I left at belatedly at 7.40pm (after we managed to get the toots to bed) for a bike run. I hammered out 30 miles with a 3 mile climb in the middle - not a lot else and got back at 9.45. I then got myself a drink of a pint of my very best recovery very secret cocktail recipe, consisting of milk, cocoa powder, ice cream and 2 raw eggs shake thingy.
What I cannot comprehend, is that I felt knackered before I got on the bike and went like the clappers (my own scale) having had the kids all day.

6 hours of banging and hammering bits of an old house and the banging and hammering hasn''t stopped even though I did at 3.30pm.

Rode in short sleeves tonight then stopped off at the kids for BBQ number three in a row.

To be fair I just had some chicken and salad so I wasn't that bad. Does 5 Coronas = bad???

Best recovery drink is beer, not sure if Corona counts.
Got to my folks having dismantled the bike to get it into the back of their Micra. Went to move the other car on the drive to make the house look busier, battery dead as a dodo. Back home for the jump pack and return. Start car and even though the engine is running power steering won't play until there's enough juice in the battery. I hate modern cars when they go wrong.
