Input a 50 mile loop and it pointed me towards Essex. First half was lovely, second half was dire - Romford town centre, Ilford town centre, some other town centre, busy A road. Basically seemed to be wherever there was a cycle lane with no regard for the type of road someone would choose to ride on for leisure.
Is there any way I can tell if that I want to ride on predominantly B roads?
I now realise I had it set to 'road cycling' but I'm not sure what difference 'tour cycling' would make.

Don't know if the touring mode is the same as the Edge Touring, but assuming it is then I've given up on the round-trip function, instead relying on putting in a few villages in a row (when I'm away so can't upload a route). Shame really as it sounds like a good idea.Condor Super Acciaio, Record, Deda, Pacentis.
Curtis 853 Handbuilt MTB, XTR, DT Swiss and lots of Hope.
Genesis Datum Gravel Bike, Pacentis (again).
Genesis Equilibrium Disc, 105 & H-Plus-Son.

I assume the round trip function is similar to the Edge touring, mine seems to work fine with the following settings :-
Routing mode - tour cycling
Calculation method - minimize distance
Lock on road - on
Avoidance setup - unpaved roads (on) , Narrow trails (off)
Recalculation - automatic
Course Turn guidance (on)
Always seems to take the scenic (not town centre) routes, I suspect the tour cycling bit keeps it away from town. However it has got its knickers twisted a couple of times when I've gone off route and it seems to want to take me back to the start for some reason (i.e. not take me back to finish the original route), weird.Rose Xeon CDX 3100, Ultegra Di2 disc (nice weather)
Ribble Gran Fondo, Campagnolo Centaur (winter bike)
Van Raam 'O' Pair
Land Rover (really nasty weather )0 -

Mine does this if 'auto re-route' is on. It auto re routes to the end.0
