Nearly new Vittoria Zaffiro tyres - do I need to bin them?

Hi guys,

I bought this Fuji for my gf earlier this year - it's never had a puncture, and pressure is always kept between 70-100 psi, probably 80 is the norm.

It's probably only covered about 80-100 miles at the very most.

It came fitted with 28C Zaffiro tyres, and I have some Durano plus tyres I want to fit instead, and as I am sending a Tri Cross to Mauritius that currently has Rubino Pro 25c tyres fitted, thought these would be a much better choice, as some of the routes you might want to take out there are not perfect tarmac.

So I popped the Fuji up in the stand, and then noticed what appears to be a load of cracks around the tyre - please see the link to the album below:

And here is one of the pics:

I'm pretty surprised to be honest, not so had it been run on a flat tyre at any point, but I know for a fact this has not happened.

In stark contrast, the 25c Rubino pro's that have covered FAR more mileage, are show no cracks at all.

So do I have to bin them, I assume so, just wanted confirmation from the forum really.

Leave them on, just a slight separation between the tread rubber and the sidewall rubber, just keep an eye on it.

Those cracks are fine but the tyres and rubbish anyway much like a dork disc or reflectors

Life is too short for crap tyres

    They're fine, carry on.

I've had lots of Vittoria tyres look like that but never had any fail on me.

Thankyou gents, for putting my mind at rest. Will send them with the bikes in that case.
