Hi All,

My bike is on the way out so I'm looking at buying a new bike and 3 have caught my eye:

- Planet X Pro Carbon Ultegra 6800 Road Bike - £950
- Dolan L'etape Ultegra 6800- £1050
- Ribble Gran Fondo Special Edition Ultegra 6800 - £1100

What do you think? Are there quality differences? What would you choose?

I am open to suggestions about other bikes.

Some help would be greatly appreciated

I'd go with the Ribble, but try to stretch out another £100 to get the R872 with Ultegra.

A couple of guys I know have the R872 and they are very highly rated (the bikes, not the blokes).

Good luck with whatever you go for though.

Ribble, but I think that the advice above is well.
  • Surely the flouro green Dolan!
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

That looks like a good deal, until you see it has a 11-25 cassette. Ok for flat sections but would be no good were I live and go riding, and to change to say a 28/32 you would need to buy new rear derailleur and probably new chain.

No new derailleur required for 11-28 cassette. Ribble would probably swap the cassette for you anyway if you contacted them.
