Crankset upgrade advise/compatibility
running a 9 speed drivetrain. looking to upgrade my crankset to a lighter and compact 50-34 model. any suggestions?
Looks like most new cranksets are labeled as 10 speed, would i see any compatibility issues with 9 speed parts including shifters?
current crankset is shimano Tiagra 4550 compact 9/10 speed
with shimano hg93 9 speed chain and shimano ultegra 6500 9 speed cassette
My first thought is 9 sp chain may be too wide at 6.5mm spec ??

Any 10 speed crankset will work fine with a 9 speed chain. (as it will with all the other components)0
