The evolution of the MAMILHills are like half life - they wait until you're 50% recovered from one before hitting you in the face with the next.

As one of the most successful sales reps in Stevenage ( I recently got a new BMW turbo) I decided I was too busy and outsourced my Strava times to Manish in Gujarat and I'll have you know that I have 3 of the 10 top times crossing the Gir national park all this with his mother-in-law on the handlebars and the wife on the crossbar. This gives me more time to watch Top Gears and the Golf channel
What's more Manish tells me that putting Tiger sperm in his omelettes has improved my times by 7% and is NOT on the banned substance list either. If anybody is looking for great Strava times his brother Sandeep has just got a Raleigh Chopper, pls contact me and will put you in touch.

yeah, it doesn't really make sense, if it was just to get a strava KOM then why bother hiding the motor? for the cost and hassle of installation just get an e-bike or drive the segment in a believable time.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
I'm thinking of taking EPO to make my commutes quicker so I can spend more time in bed.
Do they sell this stuff on Amazon?Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

I believe you can find it in Boots, next to the Regaine hair products..., and it's on BoGoF.0 -
Well you may have a laugh at the stupidity of people... but to me, I am growing evermore disillusioned with racing... as I am stupidly putting in the hours of hard winter training to the detriment of life sometimes, only to be completely outclassed in races , where in all honesty.. some things just dont add up... perhaps that is why I am eyeing up my beloved Peugeot I had as a spotty teenager in the early 70s, which I can have back for £400, and basically have done with it all. At least then the drugs of choice were just too mask the pain of it all.0

I see the Gran Fondo in Cambridge is doing random drug tests.
My process is to stop taking my main drug, beer, two days before a race. Although I went for lunch with my wife today and had two pints so that's out the window. I have though after long and vigorous testing confirmed beer is not a performance enhancing drug.0 -

What how dare you say such terrible things about beer even if it might be trueRule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

Doping in amateur sport is not a new thing. It's been proved over and over than the Granfondo circuit art least in Italy is rotten to the bone, folks have been found positive for up to 8 banned substances.
Strava doping is a new thing, but I am not surprised. The mother of the idiot is always pregnant, so to speak and there is no shortage of them. It's just an aspect of a wider phenomenon, lack of confidence, which in girls lead to anorexia and in mamils lead to taking drugs to prove some kind of virility.
Shame some of my tax goes into paying for their cancer treatment down the line, when drugs have run out of their magic and leave side effects only, but hey oh, there's worse I supposeleft the forum March 20230 -
First anecdote in that story, sounds bs by the way, pretty sure you can't hear the motors, if you can then they can't really be classed as hidden, what does it matter if she had a motor, if it wasn't a race then who gives a toss, as for the other guy being 'livid' he needs to get a life and concentrate on his own fitness levels.0

Most disappointing aspect of reading the article was that there were no pop up ads/links to where I can get hold of the PEDS, you see I'm not even in the top 100 for Bank Hill which is rather embarrassing. This needs sorting!0

What ever happened to riding just for the enjoyment of riding? Too many people care about climbing up a Stava Ladder and getting one upmanship on people they have probably never met. I am pretty sure they cannot be enjoying riding if they are ready to risk their health and turn themselves inside out every ride just to gain some extra kudos.
Amateur racing doping will not bring in rewards that outweigh the cost of doping in the first place. I would rather just get out there and concentrate and what I can do and how much enjoyment I get from the ride. There will always be someone faster anyway so why should I care?0 -
I am quite content in the knowledge that I am such a scrooge that I could never justify the cost of PEDs.

I am beginning to loathe strava. its full of motorbikes/ dopers/ idiots/ risk takers. it has a lot of pathetic cyberbullying and oneupmanship.
other than that though its great...0 -
Velonews have just published an article on this topic. It deals with doping on the US amateur racing scene.

The article (link) is a bit of fun by a once-excellent campaigning newspaper now grasping for readers and advertising in a changing world. It is still a good 'paper, but this article exposes where it is wandering.
As to Strava, how could it be otherwise?
But it's OK; it isn't a regulated sport, it isn't even a 'real' sport. I know a few people who got onto Strava, dipped a toe into the welcoming waters and now hate the thing with a venom for taking the pleasure out of their cycling.
Most users I know bought into it, like it and use it. There is a sort of golf-club one-upmanship about some users, but by not using it myself I silence their ego-broadcasts and fantasies.
It is a funny thing that encourages people to cane bike and self on a shared, public highway. I did club TTs for many years and I nearly had some scrapes doing that, despite 'watchers' at junctions. But that's OK if Strava does get a little 'Darwinian' in thinning the gene pool. These may not be the genes we need.
In short: Fun article. Move along. These are not the droids you're looking for.0 -
I lost a KoM last night which I didn't even know I had. Someone must have created a segment where I happened to have had the fasted time - and then went back out and beat it. It's all bollox...0
