Mallorca already this year and the Pyrenees to come. And that's just the cycling ones!

This is about a 'rich persons tax perk' - we can have new bikes and holidays! :D

One guy bought a Brompton so he could get the train and cycle from the station. This worked so well he has now bought a bigger house near the coast because the bicycle combined with train has allowed him a much longer commute. He never would have entertained it had he still been driving.
So you're saying it's actually an over-complicated way of encouraging people to buy bigger houses?!? The C2W scheme should be providing affordable housing. I'm writing to my MP...

    Lets be honest.
Rich people can have anything they want.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Possibly. I only see the need for 3 bikes. One "good" weekend summer bike, 1 commuter, 1 trail bike.
Why a good commuter? Reliability & enjoyment, 16 miles each way.

I have 4 bikes because I am considerably richer than yow.

No. I have more money because I didn't buy another bike.
But then I had holidays, so yes.

No, I'm just bitter because my house is small and my bike is large.

    I doubt it.
Not by a long chalk. I could name one guy with 13, plus his wife's who races so quite a few in that house.

No. Even my 9-year-old daughter has 3.5.

I bet you don't even own two identical bikes...

I'm not rich, though I'd probably be a bit closer if I stopped buying bikes.

Do two unicycles count as one bicycle? Neither of them were bought on C2W if anyone is worried.

I once saw a very impressive performance by a guy who had a separate front wheel / handlebar assembly for his unicycle. Since he was a professional performer, using it for work, it may have been tax-deductible.

Just trying to figure out how many bikes I own. Is it:
    1. Fully assembled, working bikes?
    2. Fully assembled bikes which have worked in the past, and will hopefully work again once the broken bits have been fixed?
    3. Fully or partially assembled bikes (includes bikes missing things like chains, chainsets, wheels etc)?
    4. The number of complete bikes I could potentially assemble using the various parts in my house/garage?
    5. The number of framesets I own?

To illustrate the dilemma, I have two identical CX bikes which share 5 wheelsets; neither of these is rideable at the moment, and one is missing pedals and a chain (the chain ended up on my commuter, and I don't have enough pedals to go round). I also have a large box of spares, including a complete spare frameset. Does this count as no CX bikes, one, two or three?

How many people could you invite round tomorrow morning to go for a group ride on your bikes?
That many. +1 including you.

Brilliant! This means I can quite honestly tell anyone who asks that I only have 2 bikes :-)

Would it have been better to buy 5 x £600 bikes?
Well, you would have been £1k worse off for a start :D
