Hi I am new to this forum and looking for advice on buying new wheels that I can't find elsewhere , ive been looking at buying new wheels instead of buying a new bike , I want to get some which come with convertible hubs In case I ever change my frame set to one with thru axles.
The Wheels I like most are the Vision trimax 30 , however some sites say they are convertible and some do not , does anyone happen to know whether they are ?? And have any experience as to whether they are any good ? Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply , I have seen these wheels before , and they were my second choice .. Just preferred the look and style of the visions but could not find as much info on them0

The Revo are awesome. I've done thousands of miles on two pairs now. There were a few initial issues with dry hubs but I sorted that.
Did 18 miles today off road on my CX. They're brilliant wheels. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Thankyou I may consider these then , cheaper also ... Will any wheels of this price be a big improvement over the standard wheels on my boardman cx team which cost me 900 last year ?0

Can you still buy them for £159?0

I was just looking at the revo a21 disc , which was 300 for the set0

Still have not decided as there is a fairly limited choice compared to rim brake wheels ... Is future compatIbility( with thru axles ) something worth looking for or should I just not worry and go for which ever wheels I like best ( possibly fulcrum racing 5 or some mavics)0

You know what. I've hammered the Revo. Absolutely hammered them. They're great on road. But off road they are utterly bombproof.
I've changed my mind about their worth. If you can get them cheap, you've struck gold. If you have to pay for them at RRP, do.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

They're a shade over 1600g. Light for a road wheel let alone a disc wheel. And lots of spokes. Good freehub. Good ride. Decent width. Graphics aside there's little better for the price. Handbuilts might be a better choice but, essentially, the Pro Lite are handbuilt from parts. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)
