Budget Disc Wheelset

I've just bought a Planet X London Road frameset to build up for commuting, winter and very occasional off road use.

I have pretty much decided on all components to build it up with apart from wheels and as this is my first foray into disc brakes my knowledge is limited.

Because it's a winter trainer/commuter I don't want to spend too much, I'm after something that's going to take a lot of abuse over winter and last. I'm 73kg so not a heavyweight.

Budget is around £150, but could stretch a little.

Have ruled out Mavic because of bad prior experience with death squeal. Have my eyes on Cosine 23mm Disc Wheelset @ £180, weight looks good but cannot find any reviews other than on Wiggle site.

All suggestions welcome, cheers.

It's not that easy to find out where any particular part of the Cosine come from. The hubs look robust. The spokes must be light in order to reach that overall weight. And it's a good weight. The reviews on there from actual buyers are overwhelmingly positive. Wiggle are brilliant with warranty and returns. They're a wide rim so bang on fashion. I can't see how you can do much better at the price unless you manage to get the good old Ribble/Wiggle Pro Lite Revo price match!

Yes, think I'll try and get Wiggle to price match those before I make any decision, but out of stock till end of June.

We should be on commission. Mind, we may have cost them some money as well......
