Hi all,

Was out cycling over the weekend and the rear mech broke away and caused some damage to the Carbon frame.

Not sure how bad the damage is, or how to go about getting repaired?

can't view those images, says it requires sign-on

that aside, cf can be repaired, if you search br for "carbon repair" you'll find threads on the subject

there're a few companies that do it, if you say which area you live in maybe someone can recommend a local/nearby one

Apologies, edited the links - Bike is only 5 months old so trying to pursue a warranty replacement/repair - I was more curious as to how badly damaged it seems to be?

i'd be surprised if damage from a rear mech breaking off is accepted for warranty - typically it'd be the result of impact or something getting jammed in it, rather than a manufacturing/product defect

it's not massive damage, though i'd guess it has been weakened as it looks like the gouge goes into the cf, maybe cracked it, if you get nowhere with warranty it should be an straightforward repair

It looks like its just the paint really that's been damaged. I'd not be too worried.

See what the shop says then.

Sorry Fenix, can't agree with you on this one, I would be concerned. The first two photos look like the fibres have been damaged-trouble is we don't know if the inside of the stay has delaminated. As Fenix says though, seek professional guidance; it's nearly impossible to tell the extent of damage from photos.

Have to say I agree with you. the first two pictures, once zoomed in, look like its damaged the fibres. I would also be worried and have to checked asap.
