You think I'd learn from my previous times...

I have Strava and IpBike on my phone. Strava I use for checking my own times on segments and very occasionally have recorded rides on it, IpBike I use mainly to record rides and as a GPS.

So today I cycled from Canvey Is. to St. Lawrence Bay... no problem, 30miles there. Had a quick chat with my mate who's camping there, and on the way back... Didn't start recording my ride until I checked for directions!!! I have somehow magically teleported 10 miles!

I done it once before - went to do a Strava GranFondo and didn't start recording my journey until (you guessed it!)........ I checked for directions 18.8 miles later!

One day I will remember.
Am I alone in my forgetfulness - please assure me I'm not the only numpty out there!

Steve

  • You do know you don't have to record any rides, don't you?
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

Blasphemy! Everyone knows that rides not recored and uploaded to Strava are meaningless (and probably didn't happen).

I always use a garmin so rides get recorded whether I like it or not.

I thought it was the law?!!!

But... It does appear I am the only numpty!
  • I did a massive (for me) hilly route to add some height to one of my Strava challenges.
Unfortunately my phone had switched strava off in my pocket.
I still had the hills added to my legs though so all was good.
Not how I saw it at the time though:)
