Garmin 1000 strava question

I've not been out with my 1000 unit yet but will the strava sections automatically pop up when the unit is on using general functions or ride or training or only when your following a course/route on the unit

    They do on my Edge 1000 but only if I've "starred" them

    Log onto Strava and a star should appear down the left hand side of the segments - just click on it and it'll give you a warning on your Garmin the next time you're out.
