Will This Work Or Would Be A Waste Of time

Hi All

Getting rid of one of my 29er's which has got a pair of RS 120mm Reveration RCT3's on it which I'm going to take off and put the original ones back on, my son has 120mm xc 30's on his bike which I do want to swap at some time but his bike is a 27.5, will the 29er forks work/or be any problems, I've measured the forks and the only difference I can see is the slider ( lower part of the fork ) is 12mm longer measured from the seal to the middle of the spindle.

Any ideas if this will work or not, otherwise I will sell them off, but then I'm running the risk of buying someone else's not so good cast offs as I can't afford new for his bike at the moment.

Will make the bike a bit slacker, raise the bb a little bit and make the front end taller as well. Check the new forks are the same steerer (straight or otherwise), same length and also the same axle size. You could counter the raised front end by removing a spacer from underneath the stem and placing it above instead.

Yes everything else is the same bar for the 12mm longer of the sliders.
