Shimano AM9 - is it as good as the AM45?

Anyone got the new AM9 yet? My AM45s have been stellar in their performance over the last four or five years but are really starting to wear quite badly now. My google foo has let me down and I can't find anyone that has a pair in my size so I may have to go down the route of the new AM9. Has anyone tried them or got any other recommendations for a clipless compatible all-round shoe with the kind of comfort and weatherproofing that the AM45 had?

AM45's were discontinued a few months back now, so they're going to be hard to track down in most sizes unless you want huge or tiny sizes! The AM9's are way lighter, seem just as water resistant but do feel a bit softer I've found, so you get more flex from the sole but it's hardly noticeable most of the time. Main difference is the lighter weight and revised aesthetic, other than that it's pretty much business as usual.

I know, and I missed the chance to stock up as I have normal sized feet :(

Sounds promising. May have to get a pair of them then! Cheers!!
