cable pull

I need a pair of drop bar brake levers for single speed and cable disc brakes. The Shimano 400 are marketed for caliper rim brakes and the Tektro are marketed for V-brakes. Am I right in thinking V-brakes require more cable pull than calipers and therefore the levers should be better suited to disc brakes?

Ugo ~ what frame are you using that has disk brake mounts and single speed drop outs, or are you using a different solution for chain tensioning? I'm curious as I fancy building a singlespeed cross type bike as a 'country pub bike'.

The latter. I have not bought the chain tensioner yet, still need to research, but ATM Velosolo products seem to be the one I might go for

Velosolo is OK but the ProblemSolvers twin pulley one is far more robust IME
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

The Tektro 520 levers (15 quid) are awesome, the cable pull is immense, allowing for large pad clearance!

I went for a On-One tensioner, which seems OK, still need to put the chain on though
