Afternoon All,
If I was going to:
1) upgrade my crank set - currently stock: Shimano M552, (I converted it to 1 x 10) + Shimano Press Fit
- what would be my best choice --> XT (probably XTR is to pricey)??
Upgrade in terms of quality, reliability and weight
BTW: does something like this: https://www.mantel.com/uk/shimano-xt-m8 ... 0wodKawJtw
include for BB as a set
2) upgrade/replace my rear 10s shifter - currently stock: Shimano Deore
- would it be sensible to got for XT - is it really any better ?
Upgrade in terms of quality, reliability.
Many thanks,
Chris

Go for SLX. The main difference between SLX and XT I'd the XT rings are a little lighter.
Shimano cranksets usually come with a BB. If not, get an XTR BB from Rose Bikes. Not a lot more expensive than SLX but lasts forever. I have two, both are around three years old and dead smooth.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
M8000 doesn't come with a BB or at least it didn't plus the ones they did include weren't press fit.
Other than that I really rate the new XT stuff, although if I was in the market for a new drivetrain I'd be very tempted by the new SLX.0 -

M7000 is the new SLX models, is 11 speed, if you're wanting to stick with 10 speed though I found SLX did a great job again.0
