Any ideas - 24mm Tyres??

Last year I bought a Pinarello Dogma 65.1 - it came with Schwalbe 25mm tyres mounted on 25mm rims. The bike is designed to take 25mm (the pros ride them), however it is very tight.
Whilst our riding last year a spoke came loose causing the rear wheel to run untrue. This resulting in the tyre rubbing on the chain stays and took a layer of paint off or so. I've had it checked out and there is no structural damage to the frame and stuck a clear protective film over the damage. The wheel as now been trued to within an mm of its life - and still is!
I was out this weekend going up a steep hill (applying power) and could hear a light brushing noise every revolution. going on the flat (no power) this disappears. I'm wondering if when significant power is applied, would this distort the back wheel to create the rub? Checked the skewer and it was still as tight as it should be?
I'm pretty much ready for some new tyres now and wondered if 24mm tyre would give me that but more breathing space. I used to ride Conti GP 24s, however it doesnt look like they're available any more.
Any suggestions, thoughts? - really dont want to go back to 23mm as loved the ride feel in moving from 23mm to 25mm.

I think specialized s-works turbo tyre is 24mm.
a 23mm Michelin pro 4 may come up around 24mm. Not all tyres are made the same size.0 -
Continental GP4000S 23mm are actually 24mm.0
-
Michelin tend to size up (volume wise) a little bigger than Conti so worth looking at Michelin.Trail fun - Transition Bandit

Dremel a bit off the frame?0

Decent 23mm tyres with latex tubes?
How big do your current 25mm rims/tyres actually come up?
Do you weigh the same as a pro?
Do you ride up a hill the same as a pro?0 -
Dumb question but....
how do you measure the actual size of your tyres? from where to where?“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

Width with a vernier caliper I think.
I am not sure the Dogma 65.1 is 'designed' to use 25mm tyres.
Pro teams putting them on does not mean that the frame was designed for them (Just a thought).
Sky used Attack/Force 22/24mm I saw somewhere.0 -
I'm running 24mm Vittoria Corsa SR tubs on my Zipps but I know they do an Open Corsa version as well.
There you go http://www.sigmasport.co.uk/item/Vittor ... 00x24/2FRJ
They've got a nice tread on them.0 -

25mm tyres on wide rims will be anything from 25mm to 28mm wide depending on the tyre and rim. Stating the width of the tyre printed on the box tells you nothing about it actual width. The actual depends on the internal wodth of the rim and the bead to bead distance when the tyre is flat.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

Re the attack/force - sounds like they work well as a pair - any thought on putting the 22mm tyre on a 25mm rim? Guessing the 24mm rear will be fine?0

I wasn't looking for it but came across this today. Interesting, I thought....

Good find - Thanks for sharing this sounds about right - too many variables and as clear as mud :-)0 -
If it helps I have the same bike and have zipp 303's . I'm using 23mm gps4000 2 and still get a bit of rub on the rear .
I have used the specialised s works tyres which were lovely with no issues with clearance but they wear quickly and our roads are not very kind to them .I may be slow going up but i will pass you going down !0 -
In comparing what the pros use in terms of width, remember that teams are likely to be using tubs. The rims tend to be stiffer, and tubs tend to come up a bit smaller than a clincher into the same nominal size.0

250-400 miles more like ( speaking from experience). not that fast either... the turbo cottons are stupidly fast, the standard turbos are quicker than something like a 4 seasons tyre, but can't keep up with 4000s or a faster road tyre. I've TT'd on them and they weren't good!0
