Hi, buying first road bike ever for non racing mainly. Sportiv stuff, 2-5 hr trips. Giant Defy Advanced 2 seems to fit the bill for budget and spec. Any thoughts?

I have the advanced 2 which was my first ever road bike.
    Love it to bits.
Very comfy, good spec and for me personally the white frame is very eye catching

I own and older defy 2 - which i picked up for around £300 used.

What price are you paying ? - for the quoted £1300 I personally think there are better bikes.

The Defy will do the job you describe, if it is in budget and you like the colour and spec. then why not, do make sure you get the right size though.

I want to get a defy with Flat Mounts and through axles.

Looks like 2017 might be my year!

I have the giant defy alu and it is a great bike with a very forgiving geometry. The advanced will be all that and lighter for those sportive hill climbs.
