Motorola/Bontrager combined cadence / speed sensor fail?
I've got a couple of bikes fitted with combined Ant+ speed / cadence sensors, paired with my Bryton Rider 50. The sensor unit on my road bike stopped transmitting so have changed the battery (twice). I think the unit is a Motorola version of a unit now branded as being by Bontrager. Similar unit on my CX works fine, as does HR and GPS.
The sensor should flash LEDs when either the crank magnet, or spoke magnet pass. Neither are more than 3mm away from the sensor when they pass. However, the LEDs don't show.
Not sure why the unit would just "die" as hasn't been out in downpours, just caught out in occasional showers. Any ideas, short of buying a replacement? Way out of warranty unfortunately...
cheers
EDIT: tried again this afternoon. Took bike out into garden (far away from any 'competing' sensors). Didn't work first time so reversed battery in the compartment, as instruction graphic on inside of cover wasn't terribly clear. Still didn't work. Tried again with battery the correct way round and Hey Presto. Now pairs with the Bryton every time, although no idea how I "fixed" it  After returning from a quick lanes sprint, I much refer having a cadence reading!
