I've looked through the manual and many forums aren't too sure either so can anyone on here tell me if my Tiagra 4700 (HG50) 10 speed cassette should be fitted to my Campag Zonda 11 spd shimano hub using the spacer that was provided with the Zonda's?

There was no spacer provided with the cassette, so assume would be fine to use the Zonda spacer but some people saying I would need to use a smaller spacer than the one supplier with wheels.

Have use a 12-30 10-speed Tiagra cassette on many 10-speed freehubs without the need for a spacer. I think for some reason the Tiagra 10-speed cassettes are a bit wider than some cassettes in the 105/Ultegra range.

Logic would suggest therefore that you only need the spacer supplied with the Zonda wheels to run your cassette on an 11-speed freehub

The rivets that hold Tiagra cassettes together form little 'bumps' on the rear that others in the range dont have hence no need for the extra spacer. The only one you will require is the 11 to 10 speed spacer (supllied with the wheels).

I have recently purchased a set of 11/10/9/8 speed Shimano freehub compatible wheels, I'm using a Tiagra CS-4600 12-30T cassette, that has the in-built spacer, along with the spacer that was supplied with the wheelset. It all tightened down and indexed correctly with my 10 speed transmission.

Not sure whether your HG50, I think you mean (CS-HG500-10) is listed for 4700 10 speed cassettes, needs an extra spacer though. I'd fit it and see how it all works with the supplied spacer only.

Yeah it's actually Tiagra 4600 HG-500 10 speed. I've used the spacer that came with the wheels and see how it feels. Thanks!
