Go Pro tips and advice

Hoping someone can advise on here regarding a Go Pro camera.
I bought one last week (a GoPro Session) with a view to capturing some footage and photos of my visit to Mallorca at the end of the month. I've had it out for a few rides just to try different camera mounts and angles etc - all good so far. The problem I have is downloading files to my iPad, it takes forever. I am using the WiFi option as it seems to be the only way of doing it - I know I can connect it to my PC using the cable provided but I won't have that with me on holiday. Typically, a 12 min clip is taking about 40mins to download. I don't imagine I will sit and watch an entire ride on my iPad, that's not the intention, but I did expect to download the clip and edit it on iMovie or the like. If anyone has any tips for speeding things up, or indeed general use of the GoPro on a bike, they would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Cheers

They are large files so will always be slow transferring over wifi.
My advice would be to buy a few extra memory cards, then sort out the editing when you are home.0 -

That would make sense. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. ThanksBianchi ImpulsoBMC Teammachine SLR02 01Trek Domane AL3“When I see an adult on a bicycle, I do not despair for the future of the human race. “ ~H.G. Wells Edit - "Unless it's a BMX"0 -
I just use the micro sd card adaptor into the laptop. Much quicker. Go pro studio is a pita. I've just been uploading my rides to YouTube do I have something to watch on the turbo in winter.0

Sounds like memory cards are the way to go. Thanks.Bianchi ImpulsoBMC Teammachine SLR02 01Trek Domane AL3“When I see an adult on a bicycle, I do not despair for the future of the human race. “ ~H.G. Wells Edit - "Unless it's a BMX"0
