Should it stay or should it go?

Hi all,

I was wanting to get some advice on what I should do with my bike. I bought a new BMC GF01 recently and wen I got it home I noticed a mark in the frame.

This mark is not raised and is smooth in the frame. There does not seem to be any issues with he bike, only a few crack noises on the first ride, this maybe normal?

1. Is this normal.
2. Should I keep it and stop worrying
3. Should I return it for a replacement?

Not sure how to attaché an image, sorry.

Carbon frames often have marks in them, they sometimes look like water marks in paper.

Upload some photos of it to a site like photobucket and then load the image from there to here. Don't mean to be cheeky but how on earth do you think anyone can give an even vaguely meaningful opinion on a mark they can't see?

send a photo to Evans (assuming that is where you got it from) and see what they say.

  • Thanks for your replies.

I have spoken to Evans and sent photos, they said it was the weave of the carbon as suspected.

I have also notice, when out yesterday in the bright sunshine the same mark is visible and the front join too.

Think I'm just being over cautious.

At least I didn't have to work out how to upload the images here.
