Need new mitts as the mitt fairy has nicked half of mine - I have three single gloves
Any recommendations for these and good padded bar gel? Tend to suffer from numb hands, so padding much appreciated...

My missus swears by her Castelli Arenbergs. Lots of gel padding as the name would suggest.
They seem a bit fragile though as she's worn through one pair in just over a year. Well, less than a year if you discount winter when she'd wear full fingered gloves.0 -

Saw them on Wiggle, and noted the comments about fragility. Had plenty of fragile issues with Spesh mitts. Did get some Gore ones last year, but the bl00dy glove fairy nicked one, and they weren't that well padded anyway (although really good quality)

It's not gel, but Lizardskinz bar tape is nice and they do a 3 mm thick version.0 -
Seems like when the gel gets squeezed it puts pressure on the stitching to the palm. No worries so far on my similar Rossa Corsas.
I've got some Gore Xenon full fingered gloves that look very insubstantial. Not only do they look as good as the day they were bough but they amazingly keep your hands warm down to about 5 degrees. Not that padded though compared to others I have. Always been a Gore glove man on my MTB.0 -
Endura are very good, mine have lasted for ages.0

I rate Chiba as good value, used Air+ for Paris Roubaix and they worked well0

Chiba? Never heard of them - where do you get them?

I got mine from Amazon on sale; along with this model, also seems to be holding up pretty well

I picked up a pair of DHB Aeron mitts on the basis of review below

Only wore them for the first time this Saturday, but I was impressed with them.0 -
My hands are knackered, so limiting vibration is very important for me.
I use the extra-thick Lizard Skins tape and Endura gloves.Condor Super Acciaio, Record, Deda, Pacentis.
Curtis 853 Handbuilt MTB, XTR, DT Swiss and lots of Hope.
Genesis Datum Gravel Bike, Pacentis (again).
Genesis Equilibrium Disc, 105 & H-Plus-Son.

I forgot mine yesterday on the flat bar and had bad arms in bed last night. Wore them today and they just transform the ride. I might get another pair in a different colour. There are dhb classic mitts as well for about £15 which look good.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

All my Endura gloves are ace.0

I like my Endura's, but I find the pads flatten after a while. However great value while they last, especially the winter ones.
My absolute favorite at present is the Lizard Skins La Sal.0 -
Regards the bar tape, i tried the radial grippy tape last year and it's good quality stuff, the equal of lizard skins from my experience and has took a bit of bite out of my old cx9;s front end..it's great value too.

make them leave a space for me;
whether bones, or dust,
or ashes once among them I'll be free0 -
I'm doing big mileage offroad on a rigid bike so my hands really take a battering - Altura ProGel worked well for 12 hours of the Southdown's finest last weekend. I have had various degrees of success with different mitts / gloves - some gel inserts are simply too firm that they create a real pressure point. New Pearl Izumi Air Gel look good too but can only find sellers in Germany.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Just went buy the aeron mitts via BTR blog, got them in my basket at £22 then at checkout they'd gone up! WTF us it with Wiggle, they've done that to me twice. Markers change etc, so does mine...0
