Need some new jerseys

Not the most interesting topic, but after selling some Rapha gear, I need to replace some short sleeve jerseys

Budget of £60 or so per jersey. I've looked at Morvelo but can't find too many reviews, is there anything else out there to consider? Have previously owned Sportful stuff which I'm a big fan of

Thanks

I like dhb. But I think the colour scheme is probably more important than anything. It's only a jersey. It just has to fit and not lose things from your pockets.
Even planet x has some nice jerseys well within your budget if you like the design.

Thanks, I've found a Sportful Bodyfit Pro jersey @ Bike Inn for £42 delivered. I think I'll also order a DHB one as I'm quite a big fan of those also

I was out for hours in my Chapeau (terms) jersey today. Longer than when I initially reviewed it. Just brilliant really.

  • Torm. Unless you hated the Rapha jerseys, of course.
They use their cars as shopping baskets; they use their cars as overcoats.

The issue with the Rapha jerseys was that they didn't breath well enough for me, so I would expect Torm to be the same

I'll see what the Sportful one is like.

I can recommend this Pella Mortirolo

    http://www.lky7sports.com/cycling/cycle ... ersey.html

Excellent jersey for the money. It also comes in Fluro green, Azzuro blue and pink to order.

I like my Gore jerseys a lot. Especially the Phantom.

Having never really spent loads on cycling clothing, what makes a jersey worth £60+?

For me, it's the fit. Cheaper jerseys usually have a poor fit in my experience. That is down to preference though, I don't like flappy and non breathable fabrics in summer.

    Anyway, I've ordered;

    Sportful bodyfit pro
    DHB ASV

£85 for both jerseys, so less than budget.

Just received this earlier this week:

    http://www.conquestcyclewear.com/mens-c ... een-black/

Great jersey for the summer days - and a very good close, racing fit.
Ive been out with it twice now and will be my go to jersey for the summer evenings.

Just a note on the service too - Stewart was fantastic with both sizing advice and general support - items received less than 24 hours after ordering.

My jerseys use a different weight and composition of SportWool fabric to other manufacturers if you are talking about merino blend jerseys. In terms of taking moisture away from the body and evaporating it to the surroundings there isn't a better fabric than SportWool available that I am aware of however I'd love to hear if there is.

I'll second conquest. Great service, great prices and speedy delivery. Bought my first proper jersey from them last week. Although I would go a.size up. I'm normally medium - large. Mainly large in normal clothes. But xl is a good fit with the conquest jersey.

To bring a closure to this (I know you're all on the edge of your seats)

The Sportful Jersey is great, especially for the price. The star of the show is the DHB one (ASV). Great fit, lightweight, breathable with mesh panels & good value

It was the cheap Polyester material Rapha jereys that I had, maybe the sportswool & pro jerseys may be better, but I wont be giving them a go at current prices.

Which DHB jersey did you go for?

Not a fan of sportswool myself.

It was the ASV "race short sleeve jersey". Black and white stripes.

I was about to recommend a Sportful Bodyfit until I saw you'd ordered one. I have a few jerseys from craft, altura, morvelo and rapha and my sportful jerseys tend to be the best fit...the shoulders/neck are especially comfortable on the bodyfit compared to others. I really like the colours and style of my morvelo jersey, the arms and chest is tight but for some reason it seems to have almost no elastication around the waist even though it's supposed to be 'compression fit'..it's not so bad that I don't wear it, but it is a bit of an odd fit for me.

Cheers, it seems that Sportful Large size just fits me really well.
Nearly ordered some Morvelo stuff, so interesting to hear your comments.

  • I used to wear Sportful pretty much exclusively and I have to say it really is superb. Bodyfit is good value for what it is IMO

    +1 from me!

That would make sense, SportWool exists for exactly that reason and not all SportWool jerseys are expensive, there are companies out there offering them for less than £60.

There seem to be decent reductions pretty much across the board on the Chapeau website today, plus you get an extra 10% off code for signing up to their newsletter.
