Dura Ace C24 Rim Corrosion

I have had a set of DA C24 wheels for just under a year, and have recently noticed signs of what appears to be corrosion on the front rim.
I have contacted the supplier (ProBikeKit) who have requested I send the wheel back for investigation under warranty - however, they may take up to a month to complete the procedure, and I don't have a spare set of wheels to use in the meantime.
Is it likely that the corrosion is just on the surface, and therefore cosmetic, or is this likely to cause a rim failure?

Would I be better off (quicker turn around) going direct to Madison, or through PBK?0

I had a pair of C24's wear quite quickly on me once, which was just down to the Swisstop pads eating in to them quite viciously.
Using plenty of Shimano wheels at the moment, no issues. Using Shimano pads, isn't a bad thing these days.Follow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/scalesjason - All posts are strictly my personal view.0 -
I'm tempted to buy another front wheel to use while this one is repaired/replaced - and then sell the spare. It's just a chunk of change to spend just to keep the bike rolling...0

Which Swissstop pads were they? Swissstop are meant to be very good for reducing rim wear. That's certainly my experience.0 -

But for some reason, they appear to be quite harsh on DA rims, well the C24 in particular.Follow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/scalesjason - All posts are strictly my personal view.0 -
I had a set of C24s with exactly the same problem. The rear wheel first, after about 6 months, and then the front a few months later. Sigma replaced them (via Madison) with no hassle. The second set are ok, and have about 5K on them now. Having said that, I only tend to use them in the summer, and then for alpine, or hilly UK stuff.
They're nice wheels, but seem a bit fragile, I'll probably go for a handbuilt set of Ride Pulse when the rims are worn.0 -

What's it got to do with the OP's current issue?left the forum March 20230 -
mine have done this as well, but at the same time the rims have given up the ghost. I think the issue with mine was the cleaning products I used.... and the location as they were my 3rd choice set of wheels and were in a shed that was a bit of a moisture trap.0

Just to end this thread: The wheels were replaced under warranty.0
