I had my 2015 Cube Fritzz in the shop for servicing yesterday.
When I picked the bike up I noticed that that they had damaged my frame right down to the metal. Could anybody advise me on where I stand with this please??

Where is the damage? Very likely they will claim it was already there: some might own up, especially if it is obviously a tool slip on a specific job.

Yeah it's a difficult situation because there's no way either of you can prove it wasn't there prior to servicing.

You'll need to approach the shop but don't go in guns blazing and whatnot because it'll get you nowhere. Try to ask them politely if there was any issues because you've noticed a bit of damage that you don't recall ever being there.

Does it look like tool damage?

Thing is what do you expect them to do about it?

I wouldn't worry about it. It's a mountain bike, it's going to get scratched a lot.
  • Speak to them and see if the solution can be remedied / improved.

If you still haven't gone in yet, i really wouldn't bother
It matters not, win or lose, it's how you ride the bike

Just a scratch or are we talking something more?

If it is just a scratch then I'd leave and find a different LBS.

The problem is these days everyone thinks they're entitled to compensation and they're generally willing to be a bell end about it. Don't be that guy.

You need to think about what you expect to get out of this and is it worth it.
