KMC Chain - "just" 112 links - long enough?

Hi,

I have ordered a KMC chain and then realised it is 112 links long (the only option) - this has been fine for my 50/34 11-32 setup but I seem to recall not having to remove more than one or two links.

As the chain was £35, I don't want to unpack it only to find it won't be long enough, and then not be able to return it.

If the big chainring goes from 50T --> 52T (keeping the same large 11-32 cassette), will the 112 links of the KMC chain be enough?

I assume KMC know people run these ratios and therefore 112 will be fine, but it seems most other chains come in 114 or 116 (or even 118) link lengths.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks!

On reflection, I'm beginning to think going from compact to semi-compact really isn't worth the bother, so going to stick with my current set up in terms of gear ratio's, and therefore the 112 link chain will be ok!

    Cheers folks.

50 x 11 is probably big enough for most... a fair bit bigger than 52 x 12 for instance. Eddy Merckx rode 52 x 13.

Minor update: Chain Arrived today - the box says 114 links, not 112 as advertised!
