Strava - privacy issue in Chrome/IE

For the last couple of days Strava has refused to load in either Chrome or Internet Explorer. It is saying there is a privacy issue. I've run CCleaner to clear cookies, browser history, etc, but it's made no difference. Also run a virus scan but no issues there. Other https sites are loading, it's just an issue with Strava. I've searched "https site not loading" and tweaked some settings but still no joy.

Strava works fine in Firefox. I could just use Firefox but I like the Stavistix add-in for Chrome (I've turned this off too but still no luck).

I've run out of bright ideas now. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Sounds like you cant connect to Secure Web Sites, Can you connect to amazon or your online banking? Have you updated software recently? Disable security software and disable the firewall(router and Pc). If its works them you will need to add strava to a list of know good sites.

I can connect to other secure sites, it just seems to be Strava that is the issue. I'm running AVAST virus software. I turned AVAST off and Strava loaded. Shut Chrome down and re-opened. Strava still working.

Just add strava to avast trusted list and you should be good to go. Avast thinks it's not a legitimate site and is blocking it for your protection.

Had this problem myself, Avast was the issue. It took a while to figure it out, it looked like an issue with Chrome until I eventually clicked the button for more details and spotted Avast mentioned in the long description. RideWithGPS was also blocked.

    To fix:
    >Open Avast
    >Settings (the cog symbol in the top right)
    >Active Protection (on the left)
    >Customize next to Web Shield
    >Exclusions
    >Add *.strava.* as a URL to exclude (*.ridewithgps.* etc.).

Thanks Ian. That's exactly what I did. I should have come back and posted that it was sorted.

    Ditch Avast.
